Our aim is to save you time and effort by providing interesting and relevant travel related information on this page.

You will find information and links to our accommodation partners, transport, insurance, maps, hints for getting around, tourism, government services and simple advice for travellers with special requirements. We may also offer our opinions if we believe that to be in order.

  • Gold coast accommodation bookings online.

About 40% of accommodation bookings are made online these days, and some resorts we talk to say their percentage is as high as 80%.

In our experience, there is not a lot of difference between the various providers of booking services. However, we believe there is an obvious advantage to book direct with the property itself, because any minor issues or booking amendments will be handled by the resort. Websites like Broadbeach.net.au, and ChevronIsland.com.au let you do just that. You may read more about the standard rating system, and our views about online bookings ... (here).

Special accommodation needs

Many resorts offer Kids Club or children's facilities, but not all properties cater for the really young ones.

Finding suitable accommodation for the disabled or elderly in wheelchairs is even more difficult.

Travellers with special accommodation needs are generally advised to talk direct with the respective hotels or resorts about their requirements. We have collected some basic information on accommodation & transport which you may access ... (here).

  • Links to airlines, car rental and travel insurance

Virgin Blue Airlines - Qantas Airways - JetStar Australian Airlines
All three airlines have good specials from time to time. We try to use our frequent flyer points as much as we can with Qantas, and flights with points are always available outside the peak periods. When travelling with children, a common trick is to take them out of school a few days before the holiday starts in order to access the lower airfares.
